Images

Source and target: png, jpg / jpeg, bmp, tiff / tif, webp, gif, tga, ppm, ico, avif, heic.

Every image source can convert to every image target.

Video

Source and target: mp4 / mpeg, mkv, avi, mov, webm, wmv / asf, flv, mpg, 3gp, ogg.

Every video format can also produce a still frame (png, jpg / jpeg, bmp, tiff, webp) and an animated gif.

Video → audio

mp4 / mpeg source converts to mp3 (audio extraction). This is the only video-to-audio pair: no other video input produces audio, mp3 is the only audio output format, and mp3 itself is not accepted as an input. Codec, quality, trimming, and channel options are controlled with the video-to-audio options.

Animated images → video

gif and animated webp sources also convert to every video container: mp4, mkv, avi, mov, webm, wmv, flv, mpg, 3gp, ogg. Frame rate, trimming, codecs, and quality are controlled with the video options; a static source produces a single-frame video.

PDF → image

pdf source converts to: png, jpg / jpeg, tiff, webp, bmp.

If you submit an unsupported output_format for a given input, the API returns 422 with a validation error pointing at output_format.
