Legal
Privacy Policy
This policy applies to converterer.com, related subdomains, and the Converterer API. It explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.
1. What we collect
Information you provide directly
When you create an account, buy a plan, contact us, or request support, we may collect details such as your name, email address, company name, billing details, account credentials, and any information you choose to include in your message.
Information processed through the service
To perform conversions and website captures, we process the files, URLs, rendered pages, and related metadata you submit to Converterer. If you send us purchase receipts or invite teammates, we may also receive the contact details you provide for those purposes.
Information collected automatically
Like most online services, we collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, timestamps, and usage events. We may use cookies and analytics tools to understand product usage and improve the service.
2. How we use it
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and secure the service. Authenticate users, process payments, run conversions, deliver results, investigate misuse, prevent fraud, and support customers.
- Operate the business. Account and billing information is used for invoicing, record-keeping, service notices, and transactional communications related to your account.
- Improve Converterer. Usage and operational data helps us troubleshoot issues, monitor performance, prioritise product improvements, and protect the reliability and security of the service.
3. How we share it
Service providers
We may share information with vendors that help us deliver Converterer, such as hosting, storage, payment, analytics, email, and customer support providers. They process data only on our behalf and under appropriate controls. Our full subprocessor list names each one and where it operates.
Legal and safety disclosures
We may disclose information where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to enforce our terms, to investigate fraud or abuse, or to protect Converterer, our users, or others.
4. Processing and retention
Uploaded files, rendered pages, and conversion outputs are processed to complete the job you requested. They are not used for advertising, resale, or model training. Operational copies are typically deleted automatically after processing, although short-lived backups or logs may persist for disaster recovery, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
Account, billing, and support records may be retained for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Analytics and diagnostic information may be retained in aggregated or de-identified form for longer where permitted.
Core file conversion and the default file storage run in the EU (Germany). For the third-party providers that process data on our behalf, see our subprocessor list.
5. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information during transmission and storage. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but protecting customer data is a core operating priority. For more detail, see our security page.
6. Children and business transfers
Converterer is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in connection with the service.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
7. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Where applicable, you may also object to certain processing or request a copy of your data. Contact contact@converterer.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will post the updated version here and, where appropriate, notify account holders.
