Subprocessors
To run Converterer we rely on a small set of third-party providers. This page lists them, what each one processes, and where. Your file conversions and the default file storage run in the EU.
1. EU data residency
The parts that touch your actual files, conversion compute and the default file storage, run on Hetzner infrastructure in Germany. Databases and supporting services run on Vultr, also in Germany. The remaining providers handle billing, email, support, and analytics.
2. Current subprocessors
| Provider | Purpose | Data processed | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hetzner | Application hosting & file processing, default file storage | Files uploaded for conversion (processed transiently), converted output stored in the default destination, request metadata | Germany (EU) |
| Vultr | Databases, cache, status monitoring, website hosting | Account and job metadata, database records, cache entries | Germany (EU) |
| Hetzner DNS | DNS | DNS resolution metadata | Germany (EU) |
| Stripe | Payment processing | Billing details and card data (handled by Stripe; Converterer does not store raw card numbers) | United States / global |
| Postmark | Transactional email | Recipient email address and transactional message content (e.g. receipts, account notices) | United States |
| Google Workspace | Business email | Email correspondence sent to or from Converterer | United States / global |
| Missive | Customer support inbox | Support correspondence and associated contact details | Canada |
| Plausible Analytics | Privacy-friendly web analytics | Aggregated pageview metadata. No cookies and no personal identifiers | European Union |
| Ahrefs | Web analytics & SEO measurement | Aggregated website usage and search-performance metadata | Global |
3. Your own storage
If you connect your own storage destination (AWS S3, Backblaze B2, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob, or another supported provider), converted files are delivered straight into your bucket. In that setup the destination provider is yours, not ours, and is governed by your own agreement with them.
See storage destinations for how that works.
4. Changes
We update this page when we add, remove, or change a subprocessor. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
